In this third guided meditation, part of The Inner Temple fo the Heart Series, we’ll be focusing on activating the virtue of forgiveness.
The word forgiveness, from the Latin perdonāre, means ‘to give forth’ or to ‘give up completely’.
Essentially, forgiveness is the practice of letting go of the idea that something ‘wrong’ was done either by you, to you, or to another person, as you begin to reconcile or make peace with what happened so that you can gain a greater understanding about a person or situation and then decide what it is you want to do about it.
Each time you forgive, what you’re really doing is practicing heart management, for each time you surrender negative emotions such as anger, resentment, and blame, you eliminate emotional stress built up in the body, and reduce the possibility of cardiovascular disease. Forgiveness literally strengthens your entire immune system!
Just as you bathe your body on a regular basis, forgiveness bathes your mental and emotional bodies in a deeper sense appreciation, understanding, and compassion, allowing you to feel peaceful and at ease, and experience greater mental and emotional wellbeing.
I hope you enjoy this next installment of The Inner Temple of the Heart, and that it opens your heart to welcoming greater love, abundance, and joy in your life!
