These 12 meditations guided by Gabriel Gonsalves can have a profound effect in your life, and in the lives of people around you, especially when practiced together in groups, at the time of the full moon.
Why the full moon? The subtle energies available during this special time invite us to deepen our connection to our inner wisdom, unexpressed emotions, and the true desires of our soul. As the warm sun illuminates the cool darkness of the moon, so are all these unexamined aspects of ourselves brought forth into the light, giving us the opportunity to heal, grow and transform.
In our human bodies, our heart is the equivalent to our central planetary sun. By bringing our focused attention to the spiritual heart or heart behind the heart, we begin to gain access to what our ancestral traditions referred to as ‘The Inner Temple of the Heart’.
This Inner Temple of your Heart is your inner sanctuary and source of love, wisdom, and power, generating the largest electromagnetic energy field of your body. This field expands in all directions, connecting you to all living beings in all dimensions, transcending time and space. It connects you to the infinite wisdom of your soul, to the Universal Heart of our Creator, Spirit or God, to the Archangelic realm.
Directing your focused attention, through heart-intentional-breathing, establishes a deeper connection with your Inner Temple of the Heart, activating the vibrational frequencies of the 12 Virtues of the Heart: appreciation, compassion, forgiveness, humility, understanding, valor, love, kindness, freedom, truth, harmony and honor.

Description of Each Guided Meditation
Here’s a brief description of each guided meditation and the heart virtue that will be activated within you:
Appreciation is what allows us to feel our connection to all of life. To appreciate means to give value, or to recognize the worth of something or someone. To appreciate someone is to see them for who they truly are. Cicero considered it the mother of all virtues because it is the key that opens the heart.
Compassion is your ability to be aware of and embrace your own emotional pain so that you can better embrace, understand and appreciate the pain in others. If appreciation is what opens your heart, compassion is what allows you to let others into your heart. Compassion is the force that holds the Universe together, for it is what allows you to feel connected to everyone.
Forgiveness is the practice of letting go of the idea that something ‘wrong’ was done either by you, to you or to another person, as you begin to reconcile or make peace with what happened so that you can gain a greater understanding about a person or situation and then decide what it is you want to do about it.
Humility is the practice of letting go of the idea that you are superior or inferior to another human being, as you embrace the ultimate reality that physically we are all made of the same substance the earth is made of, emotionally we all experience the same pain and joy, and spiritually we all share the same essence of our Creator or God.
Whereas ‘knowledge’ is a function of the rational mind, of information and facts, true ‘understanding’ is a function of the heart because it requires you to see beyond the facts and grasp the bigger picture and deeper aspects of a particular situation, problem or a person in your life. Being aware of the bigger picture often brings much-needed healing into your life.
Valor is the capacity to act with courage, strength, and determination in defense of what you most value or hold close to your heart. Valor is what allows you to speak your truth when an injustice is committed either against you or someone you love. Valor is what allows you to face your biggest fear as you wholeheartedly pursuit those dreams, goals or projects you believe are possible and keeps you moving through the darkness, without losing hope.
More than a concept, an emotion or a thought, love is a state of being that is nurturing, protective, uplifting and gracious. Love is what’s left once you’re willing to surrender your anger, fear and pride, or anything else that stands in the way of love. It is a heartfelt sense of being in alignment with and part of the whole.
To be kind is to recognize that we are all part of a larger family and therefore, we are all related. More than being nice or friendly, complimenting someone for how they look or opening the door for a total stranger, kindness is a way of saying, “I care for you and your wellbeing because you and I are related. You and I are part of the same Universal family.”
Freedom is your capacity to choose what you need, want or desire for your life. And to do so, without the burden of other people’s opinions about what is right or wrong for you. Choosing who you want to be, whom you want to love, where to go, and what to say or do, is an expression of your sovereign right to co-create your life experience with the Divine and fulfill your Highest destiny.
As a virtue of the heart, truth is the result of turning inwards in order to see this bigger, unchanging, immutable reality about your life, a situation or another person. A type of reality, with a big R, that by its own nature and power transcends all forms of pre-conceived ideas, past history, moral standards or sensory perceptions.
Harmony is the capacity to bring into alignment the vibrational frequencies of your heart and mind creating a unified, expanded field of awareness that connects you with the whole. When you are in a state of what the Institute of HeartMath calls psycho-physiological coherence, you experience an inner sense of flow or being in right relationship with yourself, others, and the natural rhythm of life.
To honor yourself means you make your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing your number one priority in life; for only by first taking care of yourself, can you better take care of others. It also means having the courage to walk away from people, situations, and places where you are not being appreciated, valued and respected for who you are.
We hope you enjoy these 12 guided meditations and that they support you along your journey of personal development and spiritual growth!
