Our consumer-driven culture encourages us to believe in what is typically referred to as the “lie of scarcity” or the idea that there’s not enough material goods or resources to go around. Buying into this belief system traps us into thinking that who we are isn’t enough and that no matter how hard we work, we must struggle harder to have more and more.
And so we work harder and harder to get others to love us. We work longer hours hoping someday we’ll have the time to do the things we enjoy most. We work harder and harder to make more money but always feel like we don’t have enough.
Overcoming the “lie of scarcity” requires a change in how we perceive ourselves and our world. It requires that we consciously let go of all notion of scarcity and choose to live our lives with a new, radical, and surprising truth:
That who we are is “enough” and that there are more than “enough” resources in our worlds to go around.
When we are in complete alignment with this truth, we instantly feel more prosperous. Tuning into this inner feeling of prosperity changes how we see our world and as a result, our experience of the world changes.
The world becomes a safe, loving and nurturing place where all of our needs can easily be met; where we are loved and appreciated for who we are and where the more we share our unique gifts and talents in service to others, the more we are provided for.
Prosperity, more than a destination you’ll reach someday, is the inward journey you embark on when you consciously and wholeheartedly choose to:
1) Become a prosperous person
2) See yourself as a prosperous person
2) Think of yourself as a prosperous person
3) Feel prosperous regardless of your current conditions
4) Develop the habits that lead to greater prosperity
5) Share your creative gifts in service to others and
6) Act on new opportunities that come your way
The decision to be prosperous can be made by simply placing a hand over the heart, taking a deep breath, feeling gratitude for all you already have, and affirming to yourself:
“I am worthy of prosperity, abundance and wealth. I am enough, I do enough and I have enough. I am safe and I am loved no matter what! The more I share my creative gifts in service to others, the more prosperous I am!”
As you affirm this, notice what the feelings of prosperity feel like. Where in your body do you feel them the most? What
From my heart to yours.
